We are proud to work with a small family farm in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy that has been raising rabbits for three generations. Because rabbits reproduce rapidly, and naturally live in tight burrows, they can be raised humanely in smaller spaces. They also consume fewer resources than cattle or chickens, making them one of the most efficient animals to farm. The farm raises Californian White and New Zealand White breeds known for exceptional genetics, producing sweet and tender meat with this delicious crossbreed. The farm meets or exceeds the stringent EU standards for the 5 Freedoms of animal welfare. The rabbits are fed a clean diet of sweet alfalfa grasses, oats, wheat and barley. A consistent and regulated diet ensures unadulterated rabbit with no traces of antibiotics, hormones or other chemicals.
