The Trumpet Royale ™ (Pleurotus eryngii) is sometimes called King Oyster – a monarch among mushrooms. This is a special mushroom with a firm and meaty texture, which has been studied for its ability to boost the immune system.
But chefs love this mushroom for its versatility and flavor, and because there is no waste; the cap and stem are equally tasty. Trumpet Royale™ can stand up to many different cooking methods – even grilling. In fact, its rich umami flavor is best enjoyed when cooked over high heat. Try splitting the mushroom in half lengthwise and sautéing with butter or duck fat. It’s also lovely when grilled or roasted with olive oil.
This mushroom gets along well with cream, walnut, rosemary, olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and ginger, fresh herbs of your choice, soy sauce, garlic ... and more. Its flavor is adaptable to any cuisine. Try it yourself and see how many ways you can prepare the Trumpet Royale™ mushroom.--->
Cooking & Serving
Cooking Methods: Sauté, Pan-Sear, Pan-Roast, Roast, Grill, Stew, Braise, Poach
Cooking Tips: After opening, store any unused mushrooms in the box they came in or in a brown paper bag. Keeping the mushrooms in clusters will keep them fresher longer. Washing our cultivated mushrooms is not necessary and will change the texture. Simply trim the bottoms and they are ready for use in your favorite recipes. Trumpet Royale Mushrooms can be cut and used just as you'd use button mushrooms, sliced 1/2"e; thick, lightly brushed with oil and grilled, or pan-seared and basted with butter.
