Chef Nathaniel Auchter’s first food memories are of tending his family’s garden and canning tomatoes. After years studying with some of the world’s most talented Latino chefs, in Costa Rica, Puerto Rico and New York, he developed a hybrid cuisine that is all his own and incorporates his love of pure, fresh fruits and vegetables and vibrant, Latin flavors. Auchter is currently the owner, with his wife, Lindsay, of a Washington, D.C.-based boutique catering company, Proven Catering Company. He is an active member of Share Our Strength and teaches cooking to children through the Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Expo.
