hef Dave Martin made a splash on season one of Bravo’s Top Chef. He currently runs his own consulting company, Chow Down, Inc. (VYNL Restaurants-UES & Chelsea locations) and published his first cookbook, Flavor Quest, in 2009.
Dave teaches classes at The Culinary Loft in SoHo for executives from MTV and Oracle, among others. He works with and trains culinary teams at the University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana) and has helped them launch one of their new on-campus dining programs. Dave is also working on his latest project--a healthy food line for kids along with consulting, catering and doing guest chef events across the country. Dave’s road into the culinary world was far from traditional. After leaving a successful career and company in the technology industry behind, Dave chose to pursue his real love and passion--cooking. He graduated with honors from Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena, California and founded his own catering company, As You Wish Catering. He took on the executive chef role at XO Wine Bistro in Manhattan Beach, California, and built a strong customer following.
