D'Artagnan’s certified-organic, free-range turkey is a healthy and nutritious choice for your family at the holidays.
Our free-range birds are raised on small family farms, with full access to the outdoors where they get plenty of exercise, unlike factory-farmed birds. They are not pushed to grow too quickly; instead they develop at a slower pace, growing the old-fashioned way, which respects the natural process and results in a tastier bird.
The turkeys are fed an all-vegetarian diet consisting of 100% organic, non-GMO grains (corn and soy) and pure spring water, with no protein supplements, added poultry or fish by-products, pesticides or herbicides.
Additionally no antibiotics, growth hormones or arsenicals are ever administered and the birds benefit from an environment that never uses artificial light. Adherence to these principles led to the first approval by the USDA for free-range labeling, as well as to organic certification in 1990 by the Northeast Organic Farming Association.
The result is a delightfully tender, moist turkey with superb flavor and 25% less fat than standard, commercially-raised turkeys. Our fresh, certified organic free-range turkeys are available in two-pound size increments, starting at 8-10 pounds and ranging to 24-26 pounds.

Cooking your D'Artagnan turkey
Keep in mind that depending on several factors, including: size of bird, oven calibration, type of cookware used, recipe variations, and method of cooking, time and temperature will vary. We recommend use of a meat thermometer, instant-read or digital, when gauging doneness. Click here for Turkey Roasting Basics. How to order the right size turkey
We recommend that you estimate 1-1.25 pounds per person to determine the size of turkey you will need. (For example, an 8-10 pound turkey will yield 6-8 servings). If you would like to have leftovers, then plan on at least 1.5 pounds per person.
"This two-day turkey recipe ensures juicy meat and is inspired by a recipe from Bresse, the poultry capital of France. The bird is poached in a rich broth then roasted the next day. It comes out of the oven with a crackling brown skin. "
"An all-natural, sustainably-raised D'Artagnan turkey needs little embellishment. Keep the meat moist and juicy by draping it with cheesecloth."
"This recipe was given to us from our friends at Williams-Sonoma. Gingersnaps add a sweet, gingery--and unexpected--snap to Thanksgiving gravy. Give it a try!"
"Try this Latin-inspired turkey--wrapping the breast in bacon and using the leg meat for a burrito--for your next Thanksgiving dinner."
"Even though the French do not celebrate Thanksgiving, they know how to roast a turkey--rubbed in garlic and white wine with a side of glazed chestnuts and buttery mushrooms."
