D’Artagnan’s Duck Mousse Basquaise is made with the best-quality duck fat and duck livers, port and sweet roasted bell peppers using a traditional Basque-country recipe. The mousse is luscious and velvety and makes an elegant addition to any charcuterie plate. It also makes an ideal pre-dinner snack, spread on our Organic Charcuterie Crackers. The port in the mousse pairs with port to drink, but we also love it with full-bodied whites from Burgundy. It keeps in the refrigerator for up to a month, so it is an excellent hors d’oeuvres standby for the gourmand host. What could be easier when unexpected company shows up?
Serve it in with a selection of our other handcrafted charcuterie—such as our Saucisson Sec and Jambon de Bayonne (French Prosciutto) and paired with sliced baguette, crisp-tart apples and an assortment of cheeses to round things out. Voilà—instant hors d’oeuvres!
